TOM FORD Velvet Orchid Eau de Parfum

No lie, I tried this because I saw somewhere that Gigi Hadid listed this as one of her favorite signature perfumes, and I see why she would like it so much - this scent is incredibly beautiful, interesting, and sexy.
On initial spray it smelled like a soft drink (couldn't figure out what brand or flavor though), sweet and slightly effervescent, but not cloyingly so. This was probably the citrus, rum, and honey notes coming into play, with the leather keeping it grounded so it didn't get too sweet. After about 30-60 minutes, the effervescent drink vibe faded away and I was left with an incredibly animalic leather-forward scent. This was my least favorite part of the scent evolution because the leather was just a little too strong for me, it smelled almost unblended. Thankfully, after about an hour the leather note took a backseat, at which point I was left with a deliciously mysterious and smooth floral. I couldn't identify any one note that stood out at this stage, it simply smelled excellently blended; everything played together and off of each other to produce a wonderfully sophisticated and addictive scent. This was the final evolution, and after this point it simply got closer and closer to my skin.

Overall this is a favorite, and I would wear it when I feel like channeling my inner femme fatale. Definitely a great scent for an evening at a fancy restaurant or event, or for dates where seduction is the intent. Even the leather note works - it puts the "fatale" in femme fatale. Like many Tom Ford fragrances, this one is excellently blended and simply smells luxurious and expensive to me.

A little more boozy and sharp than the Black Orchid. Suede, rum, orchid, vanilla, myrrh and sweet honey.
Warm sensual and sophisticated.
Its forever lasting and has a really good projection.
Dry down is cosy and comforting.
Really well blended notes, I` m a hugge fan of this one.
Will be on my favorite list of winter scents.
The suede note is nothing less than amazing.
Creamy, sweet and smooth drydown.
And violets...I know its not on the note list... but my nose says it there.
Totally and utterly love.

Oh Tom...Tom...Tom...how is it that one squirt of this can turn me from a square professional to a vampy femme fatale? This boozy masterpiece is the "thigh high fishnet stockings" of the perfume world. A little dirty, mysterious, and completely unforgettable. Amazing!

Two words - Sexy and powerful! And any kind of sexy. Classy, black power suit sexy, Cream power suit kinda sexy, leather dress sexy, long trench sexy, red wine in silk pajamas on the couch sexy... and all things sexy. Very creamy-kind-of- velvety in a super soft femme kinda way. This makes me think of Black Widow (from Avengers) and Olivia Pope. You know that feeling you have when you feel like you own the room, before you even walked in... and can walk in just as strong and soft as a hint of a quiet storm.... They bottled that feeling and named it Velvet Orchid.

This is a sensual and complex fragrance. Mature and elegant. Comforting and decadent.
Velvet Orchid is really velvety, thanks to a very well crafted suede note (the best suede I've ever smelled in perfumes). It is also a bit powdery, a bit fresh and a bit flowery. This contrast beautifully with the richness of the rum.
It is much more wearable than Black Orchid, and in my opinion, sexier.
It is unlikely to offend anyone, but it has enough character to be remembered.
I recommend it to dark and sweet women of all ages. I think scorpio women will specially like it.
