TOM FORD Tuscan Leather Eau de Parfum

Nobody likes it around me when asked (have asked many times)..., but I do. People find it too offensive. I love it, and going to wear it anyway.

This scent reminds me of when I snorted coke off of a strippers stomach who was wearing a leather thong. I like it a lot.

My review might simply be an echo of others, but here goes:

This was the first Tom Ford Private Blend I purchased about 3+ years ago and I probably have 1/2 of his original line. This is the fragrance that resonates the most with me (Noir de Noir a very close second). It's a not-too-subtle leather, somewhat brash in its opening accords, yet toned and tamed by the raspberry and saffron. It's just enough to push the envelope a bit and not be just another dull designer frag. In fact, if I need to pick one fragrance for traveling, this usually gets the nod as it's professional, polished, and just edgy enough as not to feel stodgy.

I love this, the staying power is a bit better than 'good' for an EDP, and it isn't overly complex. That said, onto the common comparison: Tuscan Leather with Clive Christian's "C" for Men. There is a passing similarity, but if you linger around them you'll note that there is far more depth to "C", longevity for days, and an x-factor which cannot quite be described. I have both, and I save "C" for special occasions. Tuscan Leather is just such a brilliant daily-wear/signature-scent. Very much a classic.

After the passing of my mother (she left us way too early) I went through a time trying to grasp what we shared since she was also my best friend. We shared a love for perfumes, among other things. I could not work, I was to traumatized by her passing and so I ended up spending a lot of time alone. In doing so I started whatching youtube videos and fragrance reviews. I also joined a community on facebook called swedish fragrance connoisseurs (a group of the nicest ppl ever to walk this planet, thank u Abraham G). And what a world that opened up to me! I have always loved fragrances; my mom used to smother us with chanel No 5 on sundays going to dinner at the grandparents house. And so came the day when I went in to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, to take a wiff at all the exiting new (to me) niché and exclusive perfumes that the city had to offer. I had some money and I went to the most prestigeous appartement store and got my nose stuck in a bottle of TL...... I could not belive that there existed such a scent between the heaven and earth! I bought it straight away and this was the beginning of me ruining myself trying to capture the same experience all over again. And no perfume have ever done that for me ever since that day. Tuscan leather is my BIG love. I pair it with white suede if I want a more feminine twist to it and I am not conservative with the sprays. I dont think you can overdo any of them. It might not seem like it develops much at all from the topnotes and the first spray, but to me the dry-down is very much different from the initial application. On me it settles into a really gentle and feminine jasmine. I could not ask for more.

One of my favorite fragrances to wear for the office. It will make you smell competent and you will probably get a raise if your boss smells it on you. And you will need a raise cause it's really expensive.
