TOM FORD's Noir de Noir is a warm and sensual gourmand fragrance that paints a compellingly dark portrayal of contradiction. Rich, feminine florals mix with the manly earthiness of black truffle, vanilla, and patchouli.

Short version : what ibrahiemo below said exactly, this is the one that should be called FUCKING FABULOUS.
Longer version: I discovered TF with Neroli Portofino and was totally underwhelmed, not to mention the outrageous price tag. I tried others as well such as TUSCAN LEATHER, several OUDs and the one "fucking fabulous" which I'd rather call 'MEH'.
But this one ? Well what can I say ? OUD, ROSE, and a well blended non gourmand vanilla makes this a fantastic masculine dark rose. It's heav, heady, definitely mysterious, seductive and in fact plain enthralling really, just like a magic philter. For men +30, cold season and please don't wear this with jeans and tshirts. Very lush and FUCKING FABULOUS INDEED !!! Oh and performance wise : radioactive projection and the sillage of a supernova !
The phantom of the opera in a fragrance!
A dark red rose with a black ribbon on a dusty cushion, waiting to be found in the deepest darkest places under the opera house.
Basically
I love it
Mysterious, sexy gothic
This is marketed towards women, and I can completely understand that, as ‘sex sells’. On a woman this smells ‘sexy’; think Linda Fiorentino in ‘The Last Seduction’; sultry powerful, independent and in control.
On a man? This is the smell of pure dark confidence and self-assurance. Not cocky, arrogance, not that kind of stupid bravado, that swaggering twattery.
No, on both a man and a woman this creates a singularity. An almost gravitational pull. This feels like a fragrance seldom ‘worn’ more it ‘wears’ others.
I like to think I wear this well.
I'm in love with this perfume! A combination of truffle and gorgeous black roses with thorns makes this scent unforgettable. The rose is wrapt in oakmoss and vanilla, making it warm and earthy. Dark chocolate is present as well. This creation is luxurious, solemn, mysterious, and gothic.
I imagine a gorgeous seductive woman wearing a long black dress and dark red lipstick. She is standing alone in a graveyard and throwing crimson red roses on the grave of her late husband who she murdered in cold blood.
I love this.
I'm new to perfume. I can only tell you how I think it smells, and how it makes me feel, both of which are likely to be different from others' experiences.
I smell rose, the most appealing of all the rose notes I've tested so far, perhaps because the color I get in my head is not bright red or bright pink, but a deep black/red color when I smell it. The color looks velvety. Maybe this is the truffle? You know how your eyes feel when the lights shut off and it's kindof a relief for your brain? The color I get from this scent is like that. A black-burgundy velvet eye mask. Soothing but sexy, yes?
I smell something warm and chocolatey, but not too spicy. Comfortingly warm, like a hug. But there's depth to the hug. It's not just a "hi, friend!" hug. It's like a hug from someone who is secretly pining for you but will never tell you. Comforting, but hopelessly romantic, yes?
I don't know how Tom Ford (and the perfume magicians) can make me feel soothed and aroused, content and full of longing, all at the same time, but it suits me down to the ground.
