TOM FORD’s cherries take a darker turn.

In TOM FORD’s world, cherries are the perfect way to tell a story. And by this logic, the Cherry Smoke eau de parfum is the concluding chapter, fuelled by the sweet playfulness of its predecessors. It fuses the sweet facets of apricot and osmanthus with the smokier accords of leather and wood, resulting in a warm vibrancy that radiates off your pulse points like a cloak of simmering heat.

  • Top notes: Sour Cherry and Saffron
  • Middle notes: Leather, Olive, Chinese Osmanthus and Apricot
  • Base notes: Smoke, Woody Notes and Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha

TOM FORD Cherry Smoke Eau de Parfum main accords

Cherry Smoke begins with the lovely aroma of dark cherry, complemented by exotic saffron overtones. The fragrant white blooms of osmanthus ooze facets of apricot, olive, and leather, while a delicate smoky wood harmony tantalizes with heated liveliness and a simmering, flaming pull.

I love this.

I love this - was never a huge fan of Lost Cherry as the opening is very marzipan to me. This however has a dark Cherry opening with a leather smoky undertone. Been trying this and wearing for about 3-4 hours now and I still get the Cherry. It’s a total delight and totally up my street as I love Ebene Fume aswell and this is of the same genre to me. IMO this is totally unisex but I do like a deeper more masculine fragrance. Totally addictive and a great date night fragrance as it’s alluring without punching you in the face. My new guilty pleasure.

good

The notes are unclear. The official wording, "osmanthus exude facets of apricot, olive and leather," suggests that the Osmanthus Absolute gives the impression of apricot, olive and leather without there actually BEING apricot, olive and leather in this fragrance. Since Osmanthus is generally described as "fruity and leathery," I'm inclined to lean to the latter.

I love it

Smells like a smooth leather bag with a cherry background. I love it. Its similar to Lost Cherry, but this one is less sweet, more leathery and smoky/woody. Slightly more masculine, but not too much. Its sexy. Perfect for colder months and for a date :)

beautiful smell

It is a beautiful smell...for about 5 minutes. Then it quickly settles into a very nice woody, cherry-less scent that does not project much. In my opinion, it is not as good as Lost Cherry, and I believe both are way overpriced for their lackluster longevity. Vine in Estee Lauder...give us more longevity in your releases. We are paying top dollar for your frags. Eben Fume was astounding in every way. This release should have at least had similar projection and longevity. Happy with the fragrance but not satisfied. I expected more.

Nice

Overall, it's a nice release.
Cherry Smoke is a good scent for special occasions when you're dressed up (think suit) and want to feel confident, powerful and sexy. It's a unisex take on cherry, that is leaning slightly masculine (mainly in the opening).

I was walking by Tom Ford counter at a department store to see if there are any new releases and I almost missed this scent and Electric Cherry because they weren't displayed in the typical spot for new scents. I had to look for them among the old scents.

Judging from the opening, it was my least favorite from Tom Ford's cherry fragrances because it was rather masculine and leathery. However, I started to like it more after a few hours when the scent dried down. I find drydown perfectly unisex and pleasant.

How does it smell?
Without looking at notes, I would describe it as fresh woody scent, a little leathery, with a hint of smoke and a bit of cherry in the background. The cherry is not very sweet or dominant, which makes it perfect for men. Also, it's not overly smoky, which is a positive surprise, and makes it wearable for more occasions.

The irony is that Cherry Smoke is neither cherry nor smoke dominant, actually 🙂 which is fine.

I hope Tom Ford can release a discovery set with all cherry scents or travel size trio of the cherry scents.
