This is hands down my favorite perfume. It's pretty much become my signature scent.
I usually hate vanilla but this dries down to the cutest vanilla ever. Feels a bit teen-y and sweet but well composed
Thanks to the reviewer below. I knew this smelled like something I was familiar with, but couldn't think of it. Very similar to Babycat! I would even go as far as to say I might get this because I can't find a full bottle of the YSL. 😄
Update: just received my bottle and wearing this a lot now. Longevity isn't the best, unfortunately, but it's beautiful.
Very similar to YSL Babycat. This is not as “roughed up” or “dirty” as Babycat but smells nearly identical. In fact, other than Penhaligon coming out a bit clearer they may in fact be the same scent. I am not sure I can distinguish. Will compare side-by-side another day and update.
It doesn’t seem to last as long on skin as Babycat but is still very sexy, very addictive. The vanilla note is delicious without being edible.
I think if you are having trouble sourcing Babycat (or its sibling Vanagloria) this may be a solution.
Will keep in mind if/when I run out of Babycat.
Edit: wore them each on a different forearm yesterday.
—Pen opens softer than YSL (barely)
—Pen develops its “roughness” at mid-point just as YSL starts to soften.
—At base there is no difference save for YSL being punchier (wee bit).
—YSL perhaps have a more prominent vanilla note at base. (Negligible)
—either my nose is not developed enough to detect the subtle differences or the differences are sooo subtle they will challenge most to find.
I think to the majority of noses these perfumes are identical. Great news for Americans having difficulty sourcing YSL.
Great stuff!
If you're in the US and haven't been able to get YSL's Babycat, this is your solution...or your remedy 😉
