MONTALE Intense Café Eau de Parfum main accords

Montale's Intense Cafe begins with a wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee that takes your breath away.
The flourish of coffee bean is coupled with a fresh, vegetative rose. The two combine to produce a surprisingly dry and refreshing top note. As the coffee softens, a vanillic white musk emerges, slightly sweetening the beverage with a touch of cream and sugar. Even in the final ambery drydown, the coffee has a rich and nutty character. This addicting and surprise gourmet is appropriate for both men and women, and is the ideal remedy for the coffee addict in all of us.

interesting fragrance

This is an interesting fragrance. Some of us smell the coffee note and others not. Please test before purchasing to avoid possible disappointment.
I do smell it but admit it starts off very mild. This is not a strong intense fragrance but it tenaciously hangs around you for hours. With your body heat the coffee becomes more and more evident.. The rose is weak but the vanilla is another that gets stronger with time. From a mild rose/coffee it turns into almost a rose/coffee/vanilla gourmand.
I think its unisex and perfect to wear on a sunny autumn day. Good longevity and good sillage.

I love it

I love it. This was my first perfume from Montale and it's one I always come back to. Specially during the Holidays. Perfect for cold weather or any dressy night out. This is one of my DATE NIGHT favorites. My man loves it when I wear it. It smells like walking into a very bougie coffee shop while wearing a vanilla perfume and rose scented body lotion. Ordering a hot vanilla latte and a buttery croissant. You're usually on the go but you chose to stay. It's the prettiest during Christmas time. They bring out your latte, it smells AMAZING. The coffee is not an in your face coffee, but everything I just described. In the most elegant way. It's sensual, feminine but than again a guy could totally get away with wearing it. The rose is not potent at all. This perfume was perfectly made. Sexy, intoxicating, somewhat boozy, fresh (like fresh coffee) but creamy, it smells like a vanilla latte. Intense, but in a good way. The amber really comes through when it settles, absolutely gorgeous. BISOUS

beautiful

Absolutely beautiful! Not a lot of coffee, sadly, but a beautiful, sweet, powdery vanilla dry down. It does last though I don't know about the projection, I suspect only moderate at most (for me).

If you love vanilla and powdery, warm scents, then I recommend this. Of course, keeping in mind that all skins react differently.

I kept smothering this on a few times during the day and I ended up smelling it the next day! Great staying power but I think you need more than one application.

In addition, lovely, sweet spices warm up this fragrance a little more. I suspect they "waved the coffee over the bottle" LOL (Aussie saying I think - my mother used to say this of a weak smelling or tasting thing). Still, it is a very, very nice perfume.

Amazing

As someone who doesn't like 95% of Montale or Mancera fragrances, it amazes me how I adore this.
Surprisingly they didn't overdo it with the oud (applause)! I do think it contains a little, though it isn't listed. They couldn't help themselves and had to sneak a little oud in there. I'll forgive them :)

Intense Cafe is very middle eastern to me and is the best Montale in my opinion. Chocolate Greedy is great as well, but I think of that one less as a perfume and more of an olfactory substitute for a cheat meal.

This opens with mild brew coffee. Quickly rose comes in with it's vague oud-iness. The coffee seems to vanish after the first few minutes, but wait.....

I will say, I wish Montale used their delicious vanilla more dominantly more often! Because this vanilla is exquisite. It peeks its head periodically throughout the middle phase. Sometimes I think the vanilla is going to take over, then the rose comes rushing back in to resume its place. It's like a game of peek-a-boo. No doubt rose is front and center all the way through. But I get every part of this fragrance, nothing is missed on my skin, thankfully!

As much as I enjoy the coffee notes in the opening and wish they were stronger, the mid and drydown are my favorite parts because the coffee COMES BACK after about 30 minutes as a light brew. The oud-ey rose has also softened and vanilla comes forward more. The coffee hasn't left, the fragrance just needs time to settle for it to come back to life. It's at this point I am just in awe. It starts off as what seems like could be a disappointment when the coffee takes a break and the rose won't make room for vanilla. But give it time and every note reassembles themselves to perfect placement. So very interesting! Come full drydown, a soft musky vanilla lingers while the rose still holds on. There's never a time I don't smell that distinct Montale rose, but it gradually lessens over time. I don't use this word often, but Intense Café feels like magic.

Projection is big and goes 10 hours easy before turning into a skin scent. Dare I say, the coffee actually gets stronger the more it dries down! Crazy.

smells good

Holy mother of perfumes! This is a gourmand lover’s paradise! I just added intense cafe to my collection and I am already obsessed with it. Vanilla and coffee but so much more than that. It starts off with a strong coffee note. Coffee and sweet rose. Then the coffee note settles down a bit and the vanilla comes through and stays. I cannot detect the oud. I guess my nose is not trained well for it as it is very subtle.

When I sprayed it on me at the counter I thought that it is quite similar to Delina exclusif. But this one is darker, more mysterious, less cloyingly sweet. It is perfection for fall/winter. I received compliments while wearing it and the longevity is outrageous. It is very creamy and I get whiffs of it throughout the day everytime I turn my head or I move.

I’m already considering getting a back up bottle. It is great value for money. Now I get the hype about this perfume as it made it in my top 5 perfumes already.

Edit: this has become my signature scent. And they all lived happily ever after. The end.
