The fragrance begins with the vivid clarity of star anise and the zest of Italian citrus, then transitions to the creamy and relaxing notes of green almond and exotic ylang-ylang.
This inviting combination is built on a base of silky cedarwood, sweet vanilla, and musk, resulting in a sense of encompassing warmth and tranquil elegance.
Mandorlo di Sicilia comes in the distinctive Acqua di Parma bottle, which has Art Deco characteristics. The glass, which is clear, velvety, and thick, is tinged with a deep blue in a play of reflections reminiscent of the sea's transparency.

I'm usually not a fan of almond notes because they tend to get a bit cloying in my opinion, but this one is actually very, very pleasant.
It really does smell like almond, but it's very smooth and well rounded with the other supporting notes. Especially the vanilla makes it feel quite soft and warm, while the subtle fruity notes in the background keep it from being cloying.
There's a very creamy feel as well, which both makes it smell quite gourmand but also gives it a bit of an almost coconutty sunscreen vibe.
There is a definite similarity to the AdP Vaniglia EdP, but with an almond flavoring.
Just like Vanilla, this definitely leans feminine to me. The warm vanilla sunscreen vibe reminds me of my mother. In my mind I'm brought back to when I was a child and spending time with my family on the beach and smelling my mother's warm, suntanned skin covered in sun lotion.
It's a very cozy and comforting scent. Probably the most unique scent in the Blu Mediterrano line, i.e. the one that stands out the most from the rest.
Simply love this fragrance. It's Summer here in Australia so I've been wearing it quite a lot (Both casually and professionally).
What more can I say? Works perfectly for me all day and is a great start after a shower. I usually spray both wrists, neck (front and back plus the shirt collar) and I get the whiff going the whole day long. And every whiff makes me smile.
I think it's a perfect scent for work as it's not overly strong but that doesn't mean it's weak - as I said before, it works perfectly for me. I'm not a big fan of overly strong and cloying fragrances so this one is one of my favorites.
Love the dry down too...
My first ever review here on Fragrantica as well. :)
I don't think I would want this to be anymore concentrated than it already is. How much sillage and projection do you need from a fragrance that is undeniably gourmand? Let's say Mandorlo di Sicilia was an Eau de Parfum, then the reviews would consist of comments such as: "Too cloying," "Baskin Robins in a bottle," "sickly sweet" or some comparison to pancake syrup. Gourmands never win. They're either harshly underrated or bashed when they've gained popularity. Have you ever been picked on by the "cool kids" because you didn't fit in? Case closed.
I'm quite surprised to see so many people saying that this doesn't belong in the Blu Mediterraneo line because it's not "summery enough".
This, to me, is a perfect fragrance for people who don't particularly enjoy wearing overly fresh citrus scents.
I'm one of those people and that's why I love wearing this in hot weather!
This is a lovely, sweet almond & vanilla scent that's freshened up slightly with a bit of fruitiness.
It's not at all overpowering and lasts quite a long time on my skin. It never leaves your skin, but it remains noticeable when people come close to you.
To me, the overall vibe of this fragrance is a kind of "glorified sun tan lotion" scent. I mean that as a positive. There's nothing cliché about this though.
It's quite gentle. It's undoubtedly unisex. It's very harmless and easy to wear.
I can't put my finger on it, but there's just something about this scent that reminds me of summer time. I loved wearing it for the first time this summer and I plan to always have a bottle handy in the summer time.
I can perhaps see why people might think this is a cold weather fragrance, but I just don't think it has enough warmth for that.
If you're on the lookout for a summer scent that isn't your typical "fresh" citrus smell, you should definitely check this out!
The blue lines are actually meant for hot weather use(Blu line) they are similar strength to cologne only a little stronger reason for being EDT's. So when people are bashing this scent for not being a powerfull gourmand scent. you have to ask yourself would you use angel in the summer or musc ravageur or chergui and the answer is no. this is for the hotter days when you want a nice sweet relaxing scent without it becoming too cloying with the heat. best for summer and excellent scent that smells very high quality very Italian smelling, biscotti comes to mind when i wear this.Very creamy and sweet smell overall. Lasting power is 4-6 hours during the summer. and the sillage is good enough. Amazing scent.
