A venerable Roman chapel in the south of Italy or a monastery lost in the perfumed hills of Greece… Here, time has no importance. There is only eternity. On the cool flagstones, worn to a satiny polish over the centuries, the Mediterranean summer's burning caress exalts an infinite love, almost holy. Suspended in the air a perfume of mysticism and mystery, hinting at a torrid, almost violent fever. Incense, olibanum and myrrh, immemorial aromas for entire, impetuous passion, ready for communion.

Lovely incense.

beautiful

So far this is the most beautiful church incense I have smelled. The cypress is very discreet and brings woodiness to a soft and amber incense, there is almost a side of artisanal honey on the evolution of the base notes. It reminds me of a comforting chapel surrounded by a pine forest in the mountains.

I love it

I love incense and myrrh and I am delighted with this perfume! My wife likes it less, she finds that it smells like a cathedral so I wear it for my pleasure only and I feel good with it. A perfume to try at least once in any case.

beautiful

In my opinion, a beautiful, very elegant smoky fragrance of olibanum incense, without sugar, vanilla, amber, patchouli or artifice to make it popular.

Where with Goutal I had the impression of letting the humidity and mold of the cold walls of the building drip on me, I find with Jovoy a healthy sobriety which, without being warm, is comforting. For me it is the smell of the extinguished and put away censer, before the service, which floats near the altar and which one smells when one approaches. The idea of a permanence, of a gesture ready to start again.
It is right and beautiful.

Despite the ingredients and their origin, this fragrance may disappoint those looking for an oriental, because far from exoticism we are in full Roman contemplation as the name indicates. They will find more warmth and expressiveness in Akkad. But here, it is a fragrance a little out of time, linear, regular, peaceful and deep.

The staying power is good, without being excellent (5-6h), and the projection is limited to a weak, sweet and smoky woody aura around the wearer, who can perceive it quite durably when moving. A small, discreetly soapy note in the myrrh, but subtle.
Absolutely unisex of course, like all conceptual perfumes.
A perfume of eternity and humility for oneself in short, which in my opinion can be worn quite easily outside the cold season.

smelling nice

For me, it is the scent of incense that I love, the one that transports me to the library where William of Baskerville is conducting his investigation in a Benedictine abbey (Il nome della rosa). Old damp stones, old books, old churches, monastery, convent, incense all these smells in a perfume so perfectly balanced, I confirm what Phényl says, it gives charisma to the one who wears it on the other hand for the cathedral and ceremonial side he prefers Cardinal by James Heeley!
