Irish Leather Eau de Parfum Memo Paris main accords

Memo Paris Irish Leather Eau de Parfum is a unisex leather fragrance. When a niche perfume decides to convey a story, it creates limitless olfactory options. When Memo Paris began developing its niche perfume line, it was convinced that it would reveal hundreds of myths and facts. Irish Leather Eau de Parfum is a fragrance inspired by the chilly, fragrant mornings. Pink pepper suggests the sun's earliest rays, which silently make their way through the heavy dark clouds. Muscatgrass oil lets out a sigh as the breeze seeps under the clothing. Juniper berries represent dawn dew soaking the grasses. Finally, the stable and the saddlery's wooden doors come to life with the scent of burning leather, wood, amber, and honey. A centuries-old aroma that has evolved into the absolute green companion. The horse neighed sweetly. The fragrant Paleo oil. The smell of freedom. Leather accumulates in the breeze, as grass heats with wood. With tonka bean absolute, Irish Leather gallops towards the horizon.

smells good

Opens with astringent juniper and pink pepper balancing out a great realistic leather accord.
After the initial brightness, the pepper calms down a little and the dark earthy maté shows up.
To me it smells like a dark, well-used leather garment that someone spilled gin on, which is to say it smells really really good.

It's very linear and just fades away with time, and with that comes in my opinion the only problem with this, which would be that it fades away too fast (for me only around 3-4 hours until you can barely feel it at all).
But if you're looking for a realistic leather with an "outdoors-y" feeling then this is the one for you.

good!

Exquisite scent. A true masterpiece. Nothing else needs to be said.

beautiful

Very beautifully green and fresh, juniper and forest notes. Pleasantly natural and airy like a walk among the trees in a cool day.

Were it less expensive, I would have bought it. It was 200 euro per 75 ml, and while it is good, it lasted around 6 hours and I would expect more from that value.

good!

Usually I will apply a fragrance and put it up to my partners nose and she will say the totally wrong description, like a dense creamy, oriental she'll say "mmmm...that's really fresh and fruity." Or something to that effect...basically the total opposite of what it is. (Who knows how her nose works she could be right and it's everyone else who's wrong.)
Anyhow...memo Irish leather was a big exception...as soon as she got a whiff "that's LEATHER!" She proclaimed and I proceeded to patronise her with an unexpected "wow it is...well done!"
I mean I can smell the leather (and I had prior knowledge of what the scent was called don't forget) but I was a bit surprised because for me it didn't smell completely typical or even that Tuscan Leather type approximation used in perfumery would have been more obvious for a noob to detect as 'leather' , I would imagine?
Anyway...
She went on to say that memo Irish leather smelled like a new car and I have to say I agree with her. It's a very accurate description because I would include the plastic and wood too. She never got the opening but it is indeed a sharp juniper which frankly I find jars with the leather. It takes a while to develop fully but when it does my my its an interesting one. Mate!!! Mate has shown up for a second time in a couple of days trying new fragrances and I'm still non the wiser what it smells like? Whatever is effecting the leather in here is not unpleasant but not to my liking.
My first from this house and I'll be honest I've smelled better fragrances than this one, performance was good but I desperately want to try it again before writing anything off.
Very very interesting...Gets marks for originally and that's half the battle these days.

Fabulous

Fabulous gin opening with the juniper berries; green, herbal and lightly bitter (as it should be). There are bold citrus notes, and the opening structure resembles classic men's chypres of the late 70's (Z-14, Quorum). As the opening fades out, one is left with a vegetal, herbal (and yes as other reviewers have noted, celery-like) scent from the mate and leather intertwining. Overall, the leather is fairly transparent here and is accented by the green accords which do most of the talking. It's a bit front-loaded, and the appeal dies down soon after the pretty opening. It's linear to a fault, and what you see with the note breakdown is more or less what you get. I wouldn't purchase because it's not interesting enough to justify the price. The fragrance could have benefited from a stronger, birch-based leather accord to anchor the green notes, or have gone much greener and bolder. Critiques aside, it is a clean, lightly soapy, super classy and masculine leather.
