Halfeti Eau de Parfum PENHALIGON’S

Halfeti is an incredibly elegant, fresh, green and woody gorgeousness, which will make you feel like ROYALTY. In fact, I am expecting any moment now for a butler to wheel a food-trolley into our living-room and serve me afternoon-tea.

This is a masterpiece, which in my opinion sings best during cold, wintery days. It comes off perfectly unisex on my female skin, although your opinion will of course be dictated by your chemistry. I simply love this! There are no harsh edges, everything is blended beautifully. The scent feels velvety smooth, yet strong, but not over-powering or aggressive in any way. The oud is not playing the main role here, as it is very soft and it compliments the overall scent beautifully. So even if you are not an oud fan, this is worth trying. It might also be a great introduction to your oud fragrances if you are not familiar with those.

I believe that Halfeti deserves not to be over-analysed. Just allow it a moment to develop on your skin and then start appreciating the aroma around you. Longevity is incredible and there is also no issue with either projection or sillage. Hubby can’t compliment me enough when I wear this. And unless you cannot already tell, I am completely hooked.

Amazing cedar, right amount of oud, and right amount of sweetness with nutmeg, tonka and cardamom to save it from being a burnt-oud stiffness. The fact that the rose is not prominent, is also a huge plus in my opinion.

The scent did not change much after 1 hour, maybe lost projection a bit but it smells FAN-TAS-TIC. I must admit, this carries the DNA of Gucci Rush for Men, Pal Zileri Sartoriale, Azzaro Visit and Chopard Oud Malaki! Comparing the notes actually proves. Maybe it's a great blend of all. Amazing. Just amazing. I own all except Gucci Rush, so will definetely update my review after doing side by side comparison, and few mixing and layering trials.

The longevity is 12+ hours, projection is quite far reaching as far as feedbacks from others, skin scent after 7-8 hours mark.

I sprayed again last night around 11PM to my forearm just to feel good. This morning I woke up, started working at home, then got gentle whiffs of Comme des Garcons Wonderoud/wood..."When did I spray it ?" I asked myself. Well I did not of course. This was just Halfeti from last night, transformed into something that reminds me the drydown of Wonderoud/wood! Magical stuff, smooth cedar, sandalwood and oud leftovers, the smoothest milky woodsy feeling that I can relate to maybe Dyptique's Tam Dao.

Now I am layering Halfeti by Gucci PH. Boosts masculinity to the top! And blends very well as I really think Halfeti as a more rounded, rich version of the that same genre. As a good alternative it can be layered by Bentley Absolute as well. Next I will try layering with Wonderoud! Really excited of this fragrance, Halfeti is by far the best unexpected discovery for me.

Beautiful. Mild at first then opens up. Honey with delightful spices. A library with a skylight and old cedar chairs to sit down and read. I smell several different woody trees and a mossy forest at daybreak. It becomes astringent after 10 mins then moves toward greater sweetness. Equally good for a man or woman.

Cedar is one of my favorite woody notes and when amplified by a nice, chewy patch I like it even better. Halfeti takes woods to a whole new level with the addition of oud and cypress. Woody heaven!

But lest you think Halfeti is just another walk in the forest, I'm here to tell you that a smooth amber resin, deep dark roses, fine, fine leather and, improbably, cardamom, cinnamon, tonka and vanilla (ALL of which my nose detects) shift Halfeti into a magical warm blend unlike anything else in my collection -- a woody spice. Truly sublime.

I went on a Penhaligon's binge last January and didn't give Halfeti enough attention in the following weeks, at least not enough to properly evaluate and appreciate her. With the onset of cold weather this year I've come to know her better and give her my highest recommendation.

Can't say how Halfeti works on male skin but she truly blossoms on mine. Not for lovers of light florals or candy-sweet fragrances but if you're looking for a woody, leather spice bomb that lasts for 6-8 hours and radiates comfort and warmth, Halfeti is for you.

One sniff of this and it’ll change your life like it did mine - honestly. 😍

My wonderful husband treated me to a bottle of this after I fell in love with a sample of it last year. Man.. I don’t think I can return to my former cheaper, fruity florals now 😂.. this is just so beautiful, so complex and makes me excited to wear it every time, especially on those cold Autumn/Winter days. Yes, it is expensive but I honestly would say it’s worth every penny (my husband agrees 😆).. the performance is just next level and the happiness it brings.. priceless.

Ladies, if you’re usually into softer sweeter fragrances, don’t be put off by the stronger notes as you’ll likely find it grows on you the more you sniff it, as I found myself. I’m growing to love it more every day (My husband loves it more and more too!)

While this is unisex, I would personally recommend “The Blazing Mr Sam” to any guy who wants a slightly deeper and even more masculine version of this. My husband wears it and I absolutely adore it on him 😍

What else can I say.. This has me absolutely hooked for life, especially for those cold Autumn months - it’s so wonderfully woodsy! It transports me to a beautiful forest in the day and then by a blazing bonfire with fire flies amidst at night. ❤️
