Fragrance Profile
Mandarine Basilic captures the carefree glow of a Mediterranean morning. The first spritz bursts with sun-warmed mandarins—sweet, tangy, and irresistibly juicy—brightened by the slight bite of bitter orange peel. Moments later, a breeze of freshly crushed basil drifts through the citrus grove, its green bite balanced by a serene green-tea accord that lends breezy sophistication. As the day settles into gentle heat, pale woods and a veil of musks cushion the brightness, leaving a crisp, uplifting trail that feels as effortless as white linen fluttering on a terrace.
Perfect for
Lovers of sparkling citruses who enjoy a dash of herbal freshness
Morning commutes, al-fresco lunches, or weekend escapes where easy elegance is key
Anyone seeking a signature that radiates sunny optimism while remaining impeccably polished

This is such a beautifully balanced citrus. Clementine/mandarine is more prominent than the sharp tang of bitter orange making this less serious, and playfully fragrant.
Basil adds a green, herbaceous note, but only subtley as if to suggest fresh crushed leaves in a mandarine grove.
Chamomile, green tea and orange blossoms give this a gentle, feminine smile, weaving through and elevating the sense of calm and well being.
Amber and sandalwood are barely detectable in the drydown but add to the feeling of coziness.
Very natural with a high quality feel, and no getting away from the citrus--a lot like an intensely infused sparkling cup of mandarine tea.
Any woman wearing this will invite shy smiles from strangers and a feeling of familiarity. Most comforting and bright...
Guerlain’s Mandarine Basilic is the inspiration for: Cool Citrus Basil from Bath and Bodyworks. Mandarine Basilic is fuller deeper richer fragrance. Its a fragrance you wear for yourself. Some peeps say it smells like household cleaning products but I’m a housewife and clean all day. Can I get the names of the cleaning products so I use them. Thank you :)
I'm not usually a big "citrus" perfume lover, but this fragrance is just amazing. It's the most juicy, delicious, realistic orange scent I've experienced thus far. For me the dominant notes are the mandarin and clementine; Mandarine Basilic captures the scent of fresh, juicy oranges very convincingly. The hint of ivy leaves and tea gives a crisp, green, soothing feel. Soft florals round out the zesty mandarin just a bit. There is a faint whisper of basil - it gives a dash of herbal crispness, but doesn't overwhelm the gorgeous juicy citrus. This scent is simple, refreshing, energetic and perfect for warm weather. Definitely my favorite of the Aqua Allegoria series...it's pure orangey happiness in a bottle!
This is my current main love. This one is sunshine in a bottle. This does not last more than 2-3 hours on me, but I find I don't mind at all. It gives me an excuse to go back to my vanity and revisit my little collection. My nose is not trained enough to pick out anything more than the Mandarin and the basil. I have friends that swear that it smells like everything from lemon tea to pine trees. Without fail though, the impression is always positive. This scent bounced around you like an excited border collie wanting to go play, and you can't help but smile.
You can criticize a perfume as much as you want.
But mocking the people who use the perfume is so childish.
I don’t mind if someone hates my fav perfume. But people need to stop writing “smells like —- type of people would use” is just offensive and ignorant. You can dislike anything but why feel like you must insult everyone who uses it ?
If you love this perfume, just wear it. You don’t deserve any insults from anyone.
I personally loved this perfume on a friend and got one for myself.
Always put me in a good mode. Longevity 3~5 hours
