EDITION DE PARFUMS FREDERIC MALLE Portrait Of A Lady Pure Perfume

This perfume is the only perfume where I was actually moved. I was at Barneys in NYC while exploring the city with my husband when we visited for a friend's wedding. I have wanted to try this for a really long time and the first sniff was just breathtaking. I think my heart stopped a beat! :-) You know, when you see or experience or feel something so beautiful and lovely you put your hands to your chest and just sigh? I had that reaction to this perfume. This was beyond smelling "nice" or "sexy". It gave me an emotional reaction which I usually have when viewing a masterpiece of art; something so wonderful and exquisite you're moved by its beauty even when you're not emotionally attached to it. Truly exceptional. I don't own a bottle yet but it's going to happen for sure.
Edit: I own a bottle now! It is as beautiful as I remember. And, my god it lasts! If you spray this on clothes, it will stay there until you wash it. Superb quality of material. Whenever I wear it, I feel like I'm walking around in a giant dark pink rose. So so wonderful and beautiful!

Ah "Portrait of a Lady" by Frederic Malle, I am 13 years late with this one. But this makes you smell so good, even your shadow wants to hang out with you. It's like the perfume version of confidence. Wearing this rose-incense combo is like telling the world, "Yes, I may be broke, but my fragrance budget is on point." (I think this is stupid expensive for what it is). It's the olfactory equivalent of walking into a room and everyone suddenly wanting to know your skincare routine. If "Portrait of a Lady" were a person, they'd be the effortlessly chic friend who always has the perfect comebacks but smells like a million bucks. It's basically a bottle of charisma.

I will never forget stopping a random woman in the street to ask her "What perfume are you wearing?" The scent was extraordinary, absolutely beautiful and had stopped me in my tracks. "Portrait of a Lady" she replied. I raced home to purchase and saw the price and thought "Wow, I'm going to have to save for this one!" After purchasing a range of different perfumes over the course of the year I couldn't forget the showstopper from months ago and thought to myself "Hey you only live once, buy the perfume that you really want" Well low and behold ,I ended up receiving it as a gift sooner than expected. I had a milestone birthday and everyone chipped in to buy me this amazing fragrance!
I think they were getting sick of all my hints!!! You wont regret this purchase it is long lasting and now it is me that gets stopped in the street

Portrait of a Lady? Seriously?! This is the most misleading perfume name ever. Lipstick Rose could be called POAL but not this! We picture lady as a static, distinctive figure, with her hair well done and just a bit rosiness in her cheeks. And what do we have here? We have a woman, who went on a date with her very handsome man to a rose garden late in the evening. They walked and talked. There was a smell of hundreds of roses and soil soon after the rain. It all started with a kiss but then their senses took over and they did it. Right there. So now, she has a messy hair, with rose petals stuck between, her clothes are creased and even more, there are traces of soil on her dress. She has a content smile on her face, her body glows and there is sheer happiness about her. Does a lady look like that? Nope. Don't get me wrong. I love that woman. She is so much more interesting than a lady! So much more alive. And I have no idea how I would name the perfume...

Majestic, magnificent, regal, multi faceted, stunningly beautiful fragrance. This beauty is all about the rose and the wood. A tiny squirt this morning has developed throughout the day into this beast of a sandalwood and rose all wrapped up in resinous tones and spices.
Amazingly this wonderful fragrance gets stronger in time and develops into an olfactory orchestra of wonderful rose which is sweet but is freshened by the musk notes and the undercurrents of resins and sandalwood making this perfume smell Oud like.
This is everything that you have ever read about this perfume and more. It really lives up to its reputation.
Perfection in the blend, excellent longevity, perfect silage, and it seems impossible to be anosmic to this perfume as it keeps morphing into different notes which keeps fooling the brain into thinking it is smelling different perfumes.
Well worth every single penny, this is a total and utter masterpiece!!
