Nice

Chance... For many years I longed to own this beauty and for two years now I finally do. I wear it for a night on the town with friends and dates with my BF. It's also a great, sophisticated daily scent but for some reason I don't grab it daily. I always get compliments on this, people really go nuts over it and apparently Chance and my body chemistry are made for each other! Lasting power and sillage are still superb so no complaints.

Besides SJP Lovely people identify this with me but you know what: Once my bottle is finished I'll probably wont (immediately) repurchase and I honestly cannot tell you why!

The EDP is warm and rich in comparison to the EDT. The list here is incomplete - the EDP has the exact same list of notes only amped up to maximum volume. Opening is tart fruity with the pepper, pineapple and lemon - in the EDT the truly sparkle and stay longer, in the EDP however it quickly settles into a more dense and warm version. The vanilla, musk and patch are gorgeous here and stick with you until the wee hours in the morning. Chance is unique and different with an androgynous edge, timeless classic already.

my favorite scents

I had fallen in love with Chance EDT all over again recently, so I needed the EDP as well. Lol.
Chance EDP starts off with that same musky and citrus bite directly after spraying. Once it settles, it maintains the musk and citrus but the patch, floral notes, which I believe is mainly jasmine, pink pepper are all noticeable individually, but all together make chance the beauty that she is. Vanilla softens the scent, it tones down that bite. I'm in love with chance and all of its flankers.
Now, I'm comparing the EDP and the EDT. One is sprayed on each wrist. Chance EDP is balanced by the vanilla, whereas the EDT is more citrusy. They both have that bit of sweetness to them, but the EDP mainly gets that from vanilla and the EDT gets that from the pineapple and lemon.
Yet, they are certainly very similar. Chance EDP has a bit more sillage and longevity, BUT not by much. Chance EDT has very impressive longevity and sillage for an EDT. I'd say the EDP is just a bit "louder".
Chance will always be in my collection and will always be one of my favorite scents.

Nice

I have had this for awhile but never really reached for it. Yesterday I decided to pull it out of my stash. I sprayed this on at 1:00 p.m. and after a few hours, I ventured outside into the 90-degree heat. All of a sudden I got this rich aroma and thought there was a blooming tree nearby. Nope. It was the glorious scent of Chance! It was amazing and I have never experienced this before! I suppose it never really seemed like a summer scent due to its richness, but -- I was wrong! Just fabulous in the dry desert heat of the day! Who knew???

I found a new love in Chanel EDP -- and I don't even have to buy a new bottle! :)
Happy Memorial Weekend everyone!

good

This is a boss woman scent.
No question.

I got this perfume fairly recently at a VERY reasonable price (Thank you, eBay), and I don't regret my purchase at all!
The scent isn't a 'jasmine-bomb' as I have been so commonly led to believe.
I'll try to (poorly) explain it:

This has quite a sharp and citrusy undertone that exists throughout its entire life.
There is zero sweetness. Chanel is not a house particularly concerned with creating sweet perfumes. They have no need to attempt to appeal to a difference demographic that demand sweetness and - frankly - who can blame them? There's plenty enough on the market as it is.
What we need is this - A strong, no-bullsh*t, capable, sophisticated, long-lasting (YEEEEEEEES), mature scent that allows wearers to have the belief they can handle anything remotely challenging.

I'll tell you a secret: I'm currently studying, and I had an exam recently. I specifically chose THIS perfume to wear while taking the exam, and it honestly gave me confidence. This perfume is for a capable woman.
Your smart colleague might wear it.
Your modern (yes, it's a mature, yet modern scent; such things exist) and multi-tasking mother might wear it.
Holy sh*t, YOU might wear it!

Truthfully, this is one of my scents I want my (unborn) children to remember as one of my scents.
I mean, along with "Wood Sage & Sea Salt" and "Flower" and...everything else I love, dammit!

This has fairly incredible lasting power (10+ hours), but it clings to clothes like nothing else. My favourite thing to do with this scent is spray it on my scarves. I've smelled my scarf 2 days later, and could still detect it.
I feel I can wear this day or night (maybe not in tightly-packed transport or elevators at first), and it suits any season!
It's bomb.

Is it more appealing to a mature audience? Well, yeah.
Is it hella expensive? Absolutely.
Is it repurchase-worthy if you're a boss person and want to take challenges head-on? You already know the answer to that, Perfumites! :P

favorite perfumes

Chanel Chance holds a very special meaning for me. It was one of my late Grandmother's favourite perfumes. (She died last October)

My mother gave me my Gran's unopened back up bottle of this, as she took the open one. This would sit along side her Dior J'Adore, Lancome Tesor, Lancome Miracle, Chanel No5 and Calvin Klein Eternity on her sideboard. Ever since I was a child, I'd love to sniff her perfumes. Growing up, i always bought her perfume for Birthdays and Christmas... Such fond memories.

I'll wear this on her birthday in July.
