    Beautiful

"A London garden after the rain" is the perfect way to describe this, and FK does it beautifully. It doesn't smell like petrichor and to say that would be misleading, moreso a slightly dense sweetness, slick like the morning after the rain, the way the raindrops might smell like after lingering so long on the petals/fruits. It is that perfect mix of fruity/floral that doesn't lean heavily one way or the other which is something I always look for in fragrances like these. I'm so glad this wears well on my body. It doesn't read as youthful or demure either. It's very elegant and sophisticated and so wearable.

Many will say that this and many other Burberry fragrances aren't groundbreaking and you'd be right, most of them aren't but to be fair, most people aren't looking for fragrances that are extremely niche and experimental. Is it well-blended? Is it carefully constructed? Does it have longevity? Does it project moderately? You bet your ass it does. Another hit from Burberry!

I sprayed this on my wrist and after one hour decided to purchase it. I could not believe how much I liked it! I could've sworn there was oud in the mix! This is definitely my new scent for fall! The search is over :)

    lovely

This is one of the few fragrances that when I read the blurb I actually got! Being a woman from England I really understand what Burberry and FK tried to say with this. Initially I get the floral burst which is typical of an English country garden, for me I pick up 2 flowers very dear to me as they were my late Mum's favourites and that is sweet pea and freesia, real childhood memories of my grandads allotment where he planted sweet peas and the rest being from garden visits in stately homes in spring, damp warm grass, heady roses and early fruit blossoms, delicious. But there is something else underneath, something earthy to me and then reading the blurb I got what FK tried to portray, damp earth, I also get the feeling of the trench coat which even though it is not leather they link in my thoughts. On me this switches between a feminine floral and a sensual but outdoor type woman fragrance, quite lovely.

When I first smelled My Burberry, it seemed so different from anything I'd ever smelled that was made in the last 30 years for the mass market, at least that I'm aware of! It has an elegant reserve that is related to some of the perfume Greats: Chanel Cristalle EDT (1974), Estee Lauder White Linen (1978), even Calvin Klein Eternity (1988). It has a kind of crisp elegance, a warm-cool temperature, and soapy cleanness. It's NOT cuddly at all, as so many perfumes are today, but is somewhat formal and reserved, with its green sweet pea note, sour, astringent, almost citrusy note of quince, and rich rose/freesia/carnation floral mix. It's that mix of formality and grace which calls to mind the warm-cool cleanness of White Linen, though it's not as minimalistic as that one. And, while it's not as warm and spicy as Eternity, or as mossy/citrusy as Cristalle, I think that all those three operate similarly to My Burberry in the contrasts they create, albeit with different materials: White Linen with oakmoss and aldehydes; Cristalle with oakmoss and citrus, and Eternity with spicy carnation and soapy rose. My Burberry creates that same tension with the sharp green note of sweet pea and the sour, astringent note of quince overlying the base of florals (I cannot distinguish any in particular, though the notes say rose, freesia, and carnation). That tension of rich, graceful, and lovely flowers contrasted with green and sour notes is very beautiful to me, though it just teeters on the edge of yucky -- and I know some folks can't get beyond that sour note! My Burberry is definitely a complex perfume that presents some challenges, yes, and calls to mind an earlier era of perfumes with grace and reserve, but in a totally new way and with different materials. Bravo Francis Kurkdjian, every bit as much of a master perfumer as Sophia Grojsman (White Linen and Eternity) and Henri Robert (of Cristalle fame)!

    It's glorious!!!!

Bought this in Chicago 4 years ago from the Burberry store. LOVED IT!!! Brought it home to New Mexico and it did not smell the same. I find that when I buy something in another city -- esp. one that is humid, it does not smell the same in the arid dry heat of the desert. Just sayin....

Today however -- it's been raining all morning (yes, in the desert!!!) so I took it out and sprayed it on. Guess what?
    It's glorious!!!!

    Funny how that works!!!
