Black Tie Celine perfume

CELINE's Black Tie is an excellent sophisticated scent for men and women. In the top: Alluring, dark, sensual with powdery-chalky orris butter with moss and cedar giving a soft woody earthy touch to the composition. In the base: vanilla and musk contributes with an enveloping creamy sweetness. Black Tie is suitable for both men and women, old or young: despite the classic earthy notes of moss and orris, the vanilla and musks prevents it from becoming a mature scent. With great performance and an extraordinarily high quality scent, $260 for a 100ml is a great price for this alluring masterpiece.

This is a gorgeous, smooth non-edible vanilla and orris. To me it smells like there is some pipe smoke is far in the background too. My grandfather used to smoke a pipe and it was a very smooth and sweet, slightly smoky smell. I get just a hint of that and to me that makes it so very sexy and also unisex.

To my nose, this doesn't smell much like Orchidee Vanille on me. This is more sophisticated, less sweet and much smoother.

Just a note, give your bottle time to macerate if you're not smelling it right away. Its performance gets better with maceration.

Beautiful, smooth orris root accord with a plush combination of vanilla notes. This smells both like vanillin/ethyl vanillin, as well as some of the slightly smoky qualities of vanilla absolute. Now it is not a smoky scent, mind you--there's just a hint of that specific aspect of vanilla absolute. The gorgeous accord is extended by a smooth cocktail of woody amber aromachemicals and synthetic musks. That said, none of those chemicals feel screechy, harsh, or nose-tinglingly synth. Lovely, smooth, dry, semi-sweet vanilla perfection! I'm going through my 15ml travel atomizer quickly.

I tried both Dans Paris & Black Tie from Celine. I really appreciate how understated these fragrance are. They are not loud & in your face. If you are a a fan of Montale or Tiziana Tirenzi, there's a good chance you may not like this Celine line. Black Tie is beautiful, unisex, but I think it leans more feminine. The orris is very smooth, which is surprising because sometimes I find orris to be screechy. There's a slight vintage quality going on here as well. I feel like it smells like something from the 90's but I can't put my finger on it. But it definitely doesn't have cheap 90s designer quality. She smells expensive and refined. She's perfect for wearing to the office or the board room. A very clean & fresh vanilla. Oddly, I don't think I'd wear her to a black tie formal event. Still a wonderful fragrance.!

Black Tie is my favourite of the Céline Haute Parfumerie line, which is phenomenal in its entirety. Every scent there is magnificently blended as if made according to the old école standards. The harmony and the quality of the vintage perfumery meets modernity in this collection, making it timeless. Even the galbanum jungles in Nightclubbing or pure fougère style of Rimbaud do not appear dated. Each fragrance is unique, but they are all united by some kind of airy (never too thick, waxy or dusty) powderiness, approximately in the same style as the gourmand character connects the perfumes in Maison Lancome collection.

Black Tie is just the most lush, perfectly soft orris with elegant vanilla in a cloud of powdery musc - simply a masterpiece, smooth, warm and delicious. Bravo, Céline.
