Inspired by a portrait of Marie Antoinette with the same name, this scent blends a strong floral bouquet.

À la rose is a declaration of love for all women captured in a fragrance. Queen of flowers, the rose knows no boundaries and has inspired those in the creative arts since the dawn of time. Two varieties of rose have bestowed the radiance and richness of their petals on this eau de parfum. 250 Centifolia roses from Grasse (May rose) in the form of an absolute produce a very floral base note with sweet honeyed and carnal accents, while 150 Damascena roses from Bulgaria in the form of an essential oil create a top note with a playful blend of pear and lychee. À La Rose has the crisp tenderness of rose petals, a whimsical free-spirited style and an elegance that radiates femininity.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian introduces its new women's fragrance, which will be available only in Japan. The scent follows the women's fragrance Feminin Pluriel, which features roses framed by blooms of iris, violet, jasmine, and lily of the valley. The new scent was inspired by Marie Antoinette's love of roses, as well as an image of Marie Antoinette A La Rose created by Louise Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, in which she holds a rose in her hand.

A La Rose Maison Francis Kurkdjian for women main accords
Maison Francis Kurkdjian A La Rose is made up of two types of roses: Damascus rose and Turkish rose absolute, which are gently refreshed with a zesty blend of bergamot, orange, and lemon in the upper notes. Powdery floral notes mingle with a bouquet of roses and soft violets, while base notes add character to woody cedar undertones.

Oh wow... This is THE ROSE. Bravo Francis Kurkdjian. This is a dream. It is a proud garden rose, almost a true smell, with all the nuances of that citrusy tinge full-blooming roses have. It smells like a rose in her most glorious days, petals just unfurled, young, but mature bloom on sunny days. This is femininity in a bottle. It makes me week in the knees, such beauty. Don't bother with the "similar to/reminds me of" comparisons, there is no other perfume that smells exactly like this. None of the mentions can compare. Delina is A la Rose's futuristic sister, she is all neon, latex, ultra-chemical. And A la Rose is a natural, fragile and tender beauty. I wish it lasted just a bit longer. But this is a perfect pink, fresh, dewy, true rose scent for everyday wear, morning glow, relaxation before bed... It feels like immersing yourself in an eternal beauty fountain. K-beauty admirers could love this.

Update: Been testing this from my decant for two months now and I just can't get enough of it, it seems so simple, but what a true perfection, this is what true luxury is, a simple thing made to such heights. Easily the best dewy, pink, soft rose I have ever smelled in my life. Let's hope it never goes through reformulations. On the skin it barely stays on few hours, but on fluffy cotton garments - three days.

Another update: One perfume that might come close to this is Un Zeste de Rose by Les Perfumes de Rosine. But Rosine's version is even more citrus forward, it seems.

I agree with the majority of the reviews – a linear, fresh yet powdery rose scent but one done well. Nothing earth-shattering, but does it need to be? The only qualm I have with this is that the staying power is quite weak. Not sure if that would justify a full bottle purchase of it.

I am in love with this perfume. :)

A la Rose is yet again another beautiful creation by MFK. After spraying, the initial fresh, clean array of the citruses tingle your nose for the first minute. The roses make an entrance gracefully, swinging its way through the opening notes. The transition somewhat left me wanting more of the citrus notes to linger a little bit longer. The intensity of the citruses faded prematurely IMO.

The roses here are not the heady, "madame" kind... It is youthful, jolly and sparkling. The budding kind ones you see at dawn, where the cool morning air adds to the crispness and clarity of the scent. The violet debuts in the middle part but it does not overpower the roses at all, it is just enough to make its presence known. After 3-4 hours, I can then only detect the cedar on my skin.

If you want an in-your-face kind of rose perfume, this is not for you, as it is light and delicate. It is close to skin, perfect for the spring and summer. I love how FK used only few notes in this as it gives you a very clear sense of what this perfume is about.

I can draw out my own theory why FK got inspired by Marie Antoinette. A la Rose is the kind of perfume that best suits a young french queen who is then the society "it" girl, attending frivolous banquets and celebrating the naivity of a priviledged life. The irony lies as to this perfume is very soft, a total contrast to the big life Marie antoinette is showing to the outside world. But we all know that behind all the facade is a lonely, frightened girl who only wants to be loved and be seen as she is- young, delicate but seeking happiness from all the circus happening around her. This perfume highlights that part of Marie antoinette's youthful spirit in good aspects.

I am in love with this perfume. :)

Beautiful

This perfume exudes luxury and refinement from head to toe. I wear it today, along with Chloe EDP and they not alike at all.

From what I remember, Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile was not so fresh, but rather linear and slightly musky.

MFK A la Rose smells like expensive perfume, undoubtedly. The bergamot refreshes it well, and the violets are present, but not in an overpowering way. It does not have that smell of rose water, and the feature that defines it best is - elegant, youthful and ... exclusive ❤️.

It reminds me of L'Artisan Parfumeur Rose Privée, without the aromatic touch of basil. I will report back the performances on skin.

Edit: 12 hours +, at least on my skin. I think i'm blessed.

gorgeous

This is really gorgeous. I had initially tried MFKBR540 and was sadly a little underwhelmed. While I liked certain aspects of it, the burnt sugary notes whizzing back and forth were a little much for me. A La Rose, however is lovely. I applied two sprays to my neck this afternoon at 6pm, it's now 3am and I am getting the most beautiful cloud enveloping my space. This feels like gentle moments of velvety rose that flit in and out of the experience. I hate to sound trite, but this fragrance is just that... A experience. The cedar continues to develop over and over again in a complex, yet creamy, dreamy, way. The more I wear this, the more I find it endlessly comforting. It's like a calming hug that I don't want to end. I appreciate how effortlessly pleasurable wearing this has been. Thank you MFK
